COP24

From the 2nd until the 14th December in the Polish city of Katowice, the 24th United Nations Climate Change Summit i.e. Conference of the Parties (COP) will take place. This year, the summit will include different conferences and meetings among which there is the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24), the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 14) and the Conference of Signatories to the Paris Agreement (CMA 1). Moreover, it is expected that 20 thousand people form 190 states will attend the summit, including representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations, actors from the scientific community, and form the business sector as well as politicians.

The United Nations climate summit are global conferences where actions to establish policies about climate are negotiated. Poland has hosted these summits twice already: In 2008, in the city of Poznan and in 2013, in Varsaw.
