XII Hemispheric Summit of Mayors and Local Governments

The XII Hemispheric Summit of Mayors and Local Governments will be held on 29th, 30th and 31st of August in the city of Punta del Este, Uruguay. The event will bring together political representatives from different levels of government, as well as leaders and members of associations and local networks.

The conference will address key issues in the context of the 2030 Agenda, such as decentralisation, local development, the fulfilment of the SDGs, financing models or the generation of resources, among other issues. The ultimate goal is to favour the adoption of cross-border policies that strengthen integration processes and facilitate agreements on economic, cultural and political development.

To address these questions, the summit will hold conferences, master sessions, discussion forums and high-level political dialogues, that will allow the exchange of experiences and practices among the attendees.
